The Brooks Women’s Shelter offers services for individuals or families in abusive relationships; and for others who are concerned about someone, or who just want a better understanding of abusive relationships.

24 hour Crisis Line
Trained staff are available to answer phone calls 24 hours a day and provide support, information, referrals, and advocacy (when requested). Walk-in appointments can be arranged to obtain same assistance in person.

Accommodation
Short term safe shelter is provided for families fleeing abuse. Staff provide support, information, and assistance while individuals plan their next step.

Support Groups
Weekly meetings open to women 18 years and older offer support and information.

Presentations
Educational/awareness presentations on violence and abuse are available for interested organizations. Presentations can be tailored to specific interests.

2nds on 1st
The shelter operates a thrift store that sells clothing and household items. People in need can obtain a voucher (from the shelter) to receive items at no cost.

The store is located at 107 - 1 St W and is open 10:00am to 5:00pm Mon. - Sat. (362-8338).
